Engaging children to learn, grow, experience and respect their environment, their peers and each other for sustainability of the world.
The name of the school is derived from the Yoruba word meaning education and the old Scottish spelling of play. Eco relates to environment : teaching children to be respectful, responsible, independent thinkers to handle changes in the future.
EPPA will provide a warm, healthy , loving environment for children to learn something new everyday. The whole child approach is used to bring out the best in each child and let them develop at their own pace and ability through things that interest them the most.

I have been teaching in Montessori and play based preschools since 2011. I opened my own eclectic blend of both in the fall of 2017. Operating out of my home in the community of Evergreen. I am passionate about early childhood education and touching the lives of young children. As a mother of 2 children I know first hand the importance of the sensitive years up to age 6. Habits and learning attitudes are developed at a young age and inspire them for success in life. Encouraging children to think for themselves in a creative enriched environment is paramount for early childhood development.

The homebased preschool has a ratio of 6:1 which maximizes one on one time with the teacher. This contributes to a healthy relationship based on trust and building the child's self esteem. It eliminates a student from"falling through the cracks" (per se) at a larger centre. They feel valued and confident to take on schooling at the elementary level and beyond.

I regard all children as inclusive and welcome and celebrate diversity of each child's background, culture and ethnicity. I strive to foster a healthy relationship with each child's parents and family members and encourage family involvement for the child's learning in and out of school. I believe children are capable of much more than we give them credit for if we slow down and really listen to them and let them process in turn what we are doing and telling them. They have the ability to teach themselves if we help them learn how to think. So many äha'' moments come to teachers daily whereas the child teaches them what they need to learn.
